Songs
Music plays an important part in learning our native language. Most of us are able to remember songs and nursery rhymes we learned as children. Music helps us retain words and expressions much more effectively. The rhythm of the music, as well as the repetitive patterns within the song, help us memorize words. Plus, pleasure for it’s own sake is an important part of language learning and music helps with that.
There are some classic hits that are used a lot to teach the tenses. Like this one for example because it illustrates the use of the Present Simple tense:
